Mnemonic Device

Mnemonic Device
A mnemonic for the entire periodic table of the elements recalls the names and abbreviations of all the elements, their basic electron structures, and some properties. Elements are presented in chemically useful groupings with a method that allows one to position an element without recreating the entire table. With two additional lines one can derive all the major elements and the trace elements required by humans. Another verse identifies anomalies in orbital filling.

Mnemonics are any techniques that aid in the memorization and retention of a subject. Mnemonics for electron distribution include that the orbital names s, p , d , and f stand for the line groups sharp, principal, diffuse and fundamental. This distribution is listed in order of wavelength. The number of electrons in each orbital is equivalent to the number of electrons in a unit volume of phase space. Electron configuration describes the way that electrons are distributed in the orbitals of a given molecule.
Here are some examples :

2. Rh = 1s2 2s2 2p6 3s2 3p6 4s2 3d10 4p6 5s2 4d8
3. I = 1s2 2s2 2p6 3s2 3p6 4s2 3d10 4p6 5s2 4d10 5p6
